HAMPSHIRE & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) would like to alert local people, community groups and organisations to new funding opportunities available on its website.

HIWCF is an independent charitable trust established to inspire local giving for local need.

The Community Foundation works both with donors who want to give something back to their local communities and voluntary groups providing vital services for local people where often a few hundred pounds can make a real difference to their lives.

Arts Council England ‘Let’s Create’ Jubilee Fund – now open – closes on February 4

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, grants from £750 up to £10,000 will be available for creative projects from charities, community organisations and voluntary groups in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. 

Charles Burnett Memorial Fund – now open – closes on February 7

Charitable organisations based and working in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight and in particular the New Forest will be able to apply for a grant of between £1,000 to £25,000, to support their charitable projects and services.

Hampshire Playing Fields Fund – now open – closes on February 7

Grants between £500 and £2,500 are availablefor non-commercial and non-statutory groups that are based and active in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight to replace, repair or purchase new equipment, cover coaching costs, support volunteer development, and marketing costs to reach new or under-served communities.

Including Communities Fund– now open – closes on February 7

Grants of up to £5,000 to support community based organisations working to improve the lives of people throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, particularly those who are disadvantaged at multiple levels or through multiple facets of their lives.

Including Communities (Strategic Grants) – now open – closes on February 7

This fund will support larger strategic grants (£5,000-£15,000 per annum for up to three years) supporting organisations throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight led by or working with people from disadvantaged groups.

Portsmouth City Community Fund – now open – closes on February 7

The Portsmouth City Community Fund provides grants of up to £5,000 in Portsmouth, supporting a wide range of beneficiaries including young people, older people, focusing on health and disability, medical research and general community projects.

Montagu Neville Durnford & St Leo Cawthan Fund – now open – closes on February 7

The Montagu Neville Durnford and Saint Leo Cawthan Memorial Trust grants are available for projects in the Portsmouth area which support people in need over the age of 50, with preference being given to Naval men and women or their widows. Grants are available between £1,000 and £5,000.

Also now open:

Michael Austin Harlick Fund – for sports organisations in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton.

Days Fund – for individual musicians aged over 18 in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton.

MACE Fund – for the advancement of education, through the award of scholarships, bursaries or other financial assistance in Hampshire, excluding Portsmouth and Southampton.

Hampshire Old Industrial & Reformatory Schools Fund – supporting those who have been in care with Hampshire County Council and are seeking further education.
