SOLENT University is hosting a conference that will feature cutting-edge research on current social work topics produced by final-year BA (Hons) Social Work students.

The conference will take place on Friday, 18 March 2022 at 10am in the Jane Austen lecture theatre in the Spark building on East Park Terrace.

It is an opportunity for students, staff, social work professionals, and the community to come together to share work, insights, and requirements across the discipline.

The event is open to anyone wanting to share in high-quality research and expertise, build collaborative relationships, and engage in key areas of development in social work practice and policy.

The CEO of Social Work England, Colum Conway, will give a keynote address on some of the most recent advances in social work practice and policy.

Dr David Galley, Course Leader in Social Work at Solent, says: "We are very much looking forward to bringing together everyone with shared values to continually explore and improve social work practices, particularly in light of the recent negative media coverage of social work.

"Our student colleagues have been working extremely hard to prepare to share their research findings and are interested in sharing them widely.

Visitors will have an opportunity to view the research posters and discuss the latest developments in social work.
