FIREFIGHTERS from five stations have rushed to what was thought to be a fire in a high rise building in Southampton.
On Wednesday, fire crews from Hightown, St Mary's, Redbridge, Eastleigh and Hamble were alerted to a fire alarm going off in a high rise building on Kingsclere Avenue.
The call was made at 5.51pm that day but when crews arrived, it was realised that there was no fire.
It is said that the fire alarm had been set off by cooking.
No further action was needed but crews did carry out community fire safety checks before leaving.
Firefighters left the scene at 6.13pm.
