POLICE found an abandoned car in a Hampshire village and arrested three suspects seen standing at a bus stop.
Police officers were on patrol in Hedge End when they spotted an abandoned grey Mercedes-Benz in Portsmouth Road at around 10.15am on Saturday.
They made enquiries and discovered the vehicle had been stolen in the Twickenham area.
A police spokesman said: "A member of the public approached the officers and said they’d seen three people who had been in the vehicle standing at a bus stop in Hamble Lane.
"A 33-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Hounslow in Middlesex, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
"A 33-year-old man from Chertsey in Surrey was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
"If you see anything suspicious please report this to police via the Hampshire Constabulary website or by calling 101. If it is an emergency, please dial 999 immediately."
