SHERBORNE House pupils spent the day celebrating Chinese New Year yesterday.
Every class from Reception through to Year 6 were given the opportunity to mark the special day in the calendar by painting a new year message on a ceramic plate with a lucky dragon motif.
Unusually the classrooms were completely silent as much concentration was used in the creation of each and every plate!

The plate painting, with traditional lucky colours of gold and red, will be incorporated into February’s creative writing event in which children at the Hiltingbury prep school will be working on a piece of English tied into their plate decoration experience.
The Year of the Tiger will be about making big changes. It is said that 2022 will be a year of risk-taking and adventure filled with enthusiasm and generosity in which social progress abounds.
