A FIVE car collision on a busy Hampshire motorway was causing tailbacks for rush hour traffic this evening.

The accident happened at 4.15pm just before junction 11 of the southbound M3 at Winchester.

Police said congestion was caused by debris and oil in the left in the road and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

One of the drivers was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital to be treated for shock.

Elsewhere a motorcyclist was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with a suspected broken collar bone following an accident on the eastbound M27 near junction 2 at Ower.
