PROTESTERS are set to gather in Southampton, in support of Ukraine.

Around 100 people are expected to take to the streets to call for peace and an end to the Russian invasion.

Two Solent University students have organised the protest outside Southampton Guildhall on Sunday at 3pm.

Organiser and final year journalism student at Solent, Corentin Le Got, told the Daily Echo: “As protests take place around the world, we too want to show our support.

“We are encouraging people to bring flags, banners, and placards to show that enough is enough and we want peace.”

Meanwhile, another organiser of the student-led rally, Chloe Nowicki, said: "We hope to gather as many people as possible to show our support for Ukraine. As students, it is important to fight for democracy and peace."

While waving flags and chanting slogans, the protesters will march from Guildhall to Bargate.
