THE COUNCIL is calling on people in Southampton to consider taking over the running of the Cobbett hub and library with a renewed community offer.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the previous community partner decided to withdraw from the provision of a range of community and library offers from February 1.
Since then, the building has been used by a partner temporarily but is now ready for someone new to provide a community offer at the Bitterne Park building.
Councillor Spiros Vassiliou, cabinet member for communities, culture and heritage said: "Cobbett Road Hub and Library has been a pillar of the community throughout its 80-year history.
"We are committed to this significant building being an asset to the area, and this is a great opportunity for any community groups, or organisations who may be looking to expand, or move to a premises in a prime location within Bitterne Park."
Interested organisations, who have ideas and experience, are to submit an expression of interest by Tuesday, April 5.
