A BENCH that people can use to charge their phone has arrived in Fair Oak.
The Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council made the announcement on Friday, March 11, that the first Smart Bench has been installed in Latham Road.
The bench has solar panels on the top of the bench where people sit, with two mobile phone charging discs situated at both ends.
A phone can be placed on top of a disc and be charged while the bench user waits.
Those with wireless charging enabled on their phone can use the bench.
A spokesperson from the parish council said: "We will be adding QR code stickers to the bench which will direct you to our website for updates and upcoming events."
The second Smart Bench bench will be installed outside Fair Oak Library in due course.
