NEW FUNDS have been made available to a Southampton charity that provides free care and support to people with any life-limiting illness.

Over the past ten years, Mountbatten Hampshire has received more than £30,000 from the Haskins Garden Centre, based in the West End area of Southampton.

Most recently, the charity was donated more than £5,000 by the independent business that has five centres in the south of England.

Becky McGregor, Director of Operations at Mountbatten Hampshire, said: "The support we have received from Haskins and their customers over the last 10 years has helped ensure we continue to provide and grow our services when they are needed most.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported us; your donations really do make a difference."

Meanwhile, Sophie Menjou, West End’s Customer Service Leader, said: "The last two years have been difficult for everyone.

"Members of our team have had first-hand experience of the amazing work the hospice already does, so we wanted to help them in return by choosing to support Mountbatten Hampshire as our official charity partner for the past 10 years."

The team raised money by organising various fundraising initiatives, events and collections.

"I am so proud of the funds we have been able to raise to allow the charity to continue delivering its invaluable services to our local community," Sophie added.
