A HISTORICAL society in Southampton is planning a gathering to explore the history of the city and its regions.
The Lordshill and Lordswood Historical Society will meet for the occasion next month at the community lounge of Manston Court in Lord's Hill Centre East.
Madge Heath, a local historian, will lead the discussion and explore the history of Shirley Common with a group of 25 people or more.
Members will have a chance to ask questions.
The meeting is open to all members of the public and is free of charge.
It will start at 10.30am and run until midday.
Tea and coffee will be served, and food refreshments will also be available.
Every second Thursday of the month, the society invites new speakers to take the stage.
For more information, call the chairman of the society, Robert Sanday, at 023 8034 3093 or 07866 348032.
