Cherished cufflinks laser engraved with foot or paw prints, baby’s first tooth as a charm for a bracelet and a host of unique diamond engagement rings are among the items designed and manufactured at FANCI, in London Road.

Each piece is produced on site by a team of master jewellers with more than 100 years of combined experience in making fine jewellery.

FANCI, nominated by a customer as our trader of the week this week, have been named as finalists in the UK Jewellery Awards for each of the last four years.

Director Chris Nash, a jeweller with 15 years experience in the trade, told the Daily Echo: “Those nominated range from large multi-nationals to small independents so to be shortlisted to the last six in the country four years running is something we are very proud of.

“We manufacture absolutely everything ourselves. Everything we stock is from our own collections and we’ve certainly had lots of interesting projects to work on over the years.

“A lot of our work is jewellery remodelling, taking jewellery with sentimental value and transforming it into something that matches the owners requirements without losing any of the sentiment.

"We pride ourselves on our customer service and reliability."

Staff at FANCI use up to the minute computer technology to produce the exceptional pieces. Customers for the bespoke service meet with a designer, either at the studio or in their own home, to explain their vision. A computer design is then produced before the piece is made as a 3D model so they can see that it is exactly what they had their heart set on before it is actually brought to life.

Major bespoke commissions are taken on alongside repairs of beloved jewellery.

A host of custom-made fine jewellery pieces are also made in the studio and are available to buy in the shop or online.

All diamonds, which are imported from Antwerp, comply with the Kimberly Process, a commitment to remove conflict diamonds from the global supply chain. But FANCI can also provide lab grown diamonds and gems, a great way to purchase a bigger diamond at a lower price. Gold is also always Faitrade certified.
