POLICE have recovered a stolen boat engine - before the owner realised it had been taken.
On March 25, the Marine unit of Hampshire Constabulary asked for assistance in identifying the Mariner 9.9 hp outboard engine.
It was found on the River Hamble.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Through some investigation work we have located the victim who was unaware of the theft and the engine will be returned to him.”
