SAINTS will be using cryptocurrency to fund either a mural or a pop-up club – and fans will make the decision.
In November, Southampton Football Club announced that main club partner, Sportsbet.io, had launched a first-of-its-kind Crypto Fan Fund.
The company has donated two Bitcoins to be spent on a fan-led initiative.
Both the club and Sportsbet.io have since been working with Saints Voice to decide how the donation, currently valued at £64,000, will be spent.
Now, fans can have their say by casting a vote.
Option 1: The Real Saints of Southampton Mural
On the streets of the city, a mural dedicated to the Real Saints of Southampton would be commissioned, featuring legends from the club’s history along with heroes from the local community.
The artwork would stand as a visual tribute to the club and its supporters, uniquely designed with a distinctive stained glass look to pay homage to the club’s roots.
Option 2: The Saints Club
The ultimate Saints pop-up would be created by renovating the Northam Social Club into a matchday venue decked out with memorabilia – the perfect gathering place for fans ahead of games while also serving as a social hub for Southampton in the Community during the week.
The grand opening of The Saints Club would feature an exclusive live show from the venue and international fans wouldn’t be left out either, with international fan groups able to experience the club through the latest Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technology too.
