A NEW beauty salon could be opening in Southampton should plans be approved by civic chiefs.
Proposals have been submitted to Southampton City Council to change the use of a ground floor unit on Bargate Street.
The building is currently used by Mayfair Care Homes as a meet and greet and client reception and office area for customers.
Mayfair will be moving to different premises on Bedford Place, the application says.
The new tenant - Artistic Beauty Clinic - is proposing the change of use to a beauty clinic.
There are currently two full-time employees working in the building, but should plans be approved the salon will have three full-time staff and two part-time staff working that the site.
From Monday to Saturday, the clinic will be open from 9am to 9pm, and on Sundays from 10am to 6pm, the plans state.
A decision is yet to be made on the plans.
