THIS Hampshire doggy daycare business launched less than two years ago with one canine customer and now boasts 250 four legged friends.

Country Pooch Ltd is based in beautiful countryside on the Broadlands Estate in Romsey where pups are offered enriching experiences like outdoor running paddocks, an agility paddock, a garden with climbing frames, jungle gyms, a beach room, scent dens and relaxation stations.

“There is no other daycare centre like us!” says Hannah Mead from the firm.

“Our premises, staff, service, training style and the reports we send to owners are all something special.”

Specialising in dog training, daycare and walking, Country Pooch started with just one employee and now boasts a team of 13 - one full time trainer, two dog walkers, one member of admin staff and nine daycare employees.

The business has also gone from one dog training class per week to now offering six group classes and three one to one behavioural training sessions per day.

Daily Echo: It was also named a finalist in the Daily Echo-backed South Coast Business Awards, which celebrate business excellence across a host of sectors, in 2021.

Staff aim to make sure all pooches have plenty of fun, safe and stimulating opportunities, including games, group walks and socialising with other dogs. They will never be bored with the assortment of areas and activities available.

Hannah added: “We would like to thank our incredible customers, followers and staff for their continued support and feel overwhelmed by our journey so far.

Daily Echo:

“We have exciting plans for the future and can’t wait to create new and interesting ways to enrich dogs lives.”

Unlike many local businesses, the pandemic was more of a help than a hindrance to the newly conceived Country Pooch Ltd.

In addition to the Covid dog ownership trend, which has seen British households acquire an extra 3.2 million pets, lockdown allowed the business to open its doors earlier than planned.

Daily Echo:

“We opened our doors in the midst of Covid. We were able to renovate our premises during the 2020 lockdown, fitting new flooring, installing electrics and water, putting up fencing, building enrichment areas and painting the whole site.”
