A FAIR Oak fuel station could undergo a complete transformation if planning is approved.

An application submitted by Esso details the fuel company's plans to improve the service station in Winchester Road.

The company states the external appearance will remain unchanged, but the works will "enhance the safety of the site."

If successful in their application, Esso will replace the existing fuel tanks, pipework, and forecourt.

Alterations would also be made to the currently available parking space and the service yard would be extended.

Pedestrians would also benefit from the proposed works as a new footpath may be created.

The plans detail how vehicular bollards and lighting on poles and the building could be installed.

The forecourt canopy would be replaced, along with the fence on the eastern boundary of the station.

The consultation period for this application ends on April 29 and Eastleigh Borough Council is due to make its decision on May 25.
