A HAMPSHIRE festival has ranked in the top three best in the UK, a new study shows.
The study, undertaken by Slingo, analysed 50 festivals across the world, based on their Instagram following, to see the biggest and best global festivals.
Search data results allowed them to give each festival a score out of 10 for each factor before taking an average score across each of the five factors.
Taking the number one spot was Glastonbury, which has an overall festival score of 7.43.
Taking second place in the rankings is the music festival Boomtown, which takes place at the Matterley Estate in August, just outside of Winchester. Boomtown also has 25 stages and areas to discover, giving it an overall score of 5.92 out of 10.
In third place is the Reading and Leeds festivals, resulting in a total score of 5.54 out of 10. The festivals score highly across the board (despite being over just three days) with a social following of 416,000 followers and around 105,000 people attending.
The research also looked at the best and biggest festivals across the world. It found that overall, the best festival in the world is Tomorrowland with a total score of 7.51 out of 10. Taking second place in the rankings was Glastonbury, and third place is Rock in Rio.
