A FOUR-car pile-up on a motorway caused 70-minute delays this afternoon.

Traffic heading northbound on the M3 is faced 70-minute delays following the crash which blocked two lanes.

Police were called to the scene at 2.05pm today to the crash involving four cars. 

Injuries have been reported to police.

A spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.05pm today (18 April) to a collision involving four vehicles on the northbound carriageway of the M3 between junctions 11 and 12.

“Injuries have been reported to us.

“The northbound carriageway was closed while the vehicles are recovered.

“We remain at the scene.”

The traffic was held between junction 12 at Chandler's Ford and junction 13 at Winchester.

Two lanes have now been cleared but one lane remains blocked. Delays are easing.
