IT WILL be fairly warm for the thousands of marathon runners in Southampton this weekend.

The Met Office is predicting sunny intervals on what will be a mostly cloudy day on Sunday.

This may be welcome news to those taking part in the ABP Marathon, organised by Rees Leisure, which will kick off at 9am from the Guildhall.

The forecast shows that between 7am and 10am, the sun will be shining through the clouds with temperatures of up to 13 C, but this will only feel like 10 C.

As runners progress, they will face warmer temperatures of up to 15 C in the early afternoon.

Wind speeds are predicted to be consistent throughout the day, ranging between 25 and 31mph.

It will be a relatively humid morning (75% humidity at 8am) but this will ease off to around 61% by 10am.

Runners and spectators will not have to worry about rain.
