Motorists are being advised to avoid these road closures next week.

Road works and smart motorway works on the M27 are likely to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

Some of these are scheduled to last only a few weeks, however, some could take up to a month.

The latest list of road closures from National Highways is as follows:

• M27, from 8pm May 3 to 6am May 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 4 to 7, Lane closures for improvement works.

• A36, from 8pm May 5 to 6am May 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 3 to junction 2, carriageway closure for structures works, diversion via local authority network.

• M27, from 6am May 7 to 6am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to 9, Narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit for M27 Smart Motorways.

• M27, from 6am May 9 to 6am June 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, 8, 24/7 lane closure for barrier repairs for M27 Smart Motorways.

• M27, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 7, slip road and lane closures for improvement works, diversion to junction 3 and return.

• M27, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 7, slip road and lane closures for improvement works, diversion to junction 8 and return.
