A MAN and a woman were assaulted by three people in a Southampton supermarket.

Police want to hear from witnesses to the incident at Millbrook Tesco, in Tebourba Way.

At 3.11pm on April 24, a 28-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were assaulted in the store by two men and a woman.

The suspects then left in a purple and mauve Ford Fiesta and a red Hyundai Tucson.

The female victim received scratches, bruises and minor neck injuries.

The man sustained torn ligaments in his hand, and cuts to his ear and forehead.

Two men, 37 and 25, and a 22-year-old woman, all from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They have been bailed with conditions until May 25 while enquiries continue.

PC Ben Domican is leading the investigation. He said: "This was an attack in broad daylight in front of a large crowd of people, including young children.

"If you were at the supermarket and witnessed what happened, we want to hear from you."
