But how can you save money on airport parking? We've got you covered.

A new website called Park On My Drive offers households the chance to make a bit of extra cash by advertising their drive as an alternative parking option.

Though this means users of the site have to get a taxi or bus to the airport, this often works out as a much cheaper option than airport parking.

Park On My Drive allows those who have empty driveways and garages to rent them out on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to motorists.

At the time of writing, there are 44 available parking spaces in Southampton with Park On My Drive - all within a three-mile radius of the airport.

Prices start at between £3.60 to £5 for a whole day of parking, with users able to book for multiple days at a time and property owners specifying which days are available.
