Morning patrols across Southampton city centre have led to the arrest of two wanted men.

The pair were spotted by police earlier this morning while officers were out targeting crime hotspots around the city.

Both were taken into custody as a result.

The first man was arrested at 10.10am in Southampton Street.

The 27-year-old was arrested for failing to appear in court in connection with a shoplifting offence dating back to March 7.

The second arrest took place at 12.05pm in Above Bar Street.

The 33-year-old man from Southampton had failed to appear in court in connection with failing to comply with the requirements of post-custodial supervision after being released from prison on March 3.
