RESIDENTS have been warned after 'opportunist criminals' targeted cars and garages this week. 

Police in Botley say items have been stolen in the Boorley Park area on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

A wallet, work bag, ID card, Galaxy earbuds and a bank card were taken from a car on Kingsman Drive.

The incident happened between 5.30pm on Wednesday and 8.50am on Friday.

Meanwhile, reports were also made of a group of people trying to enter a garage on the same road. 

At around 2.08am on Friday a person was seen entering the garage before being followed in by three others. 

Nothing is said to have been taken but the group fled the scene when an alarm went off. 

That same day, between 1.30am and 1.40am, £2 was taken from a car on Wallace Avenue and two cars were searched on Kingsman Drive and Braxells Road on Thursday and Friday. 

On these occasion, nothing is thought to have been taken.

Now police have warned residents of these 'opportunist criminals' advising them to keep cars and buildings locked and consider investing in cameras.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Do you have any Private CCTV, Dash Cam Footage, or Door Bell Footage that may assist us?

"If you have any information about this incident - Please call 101 – or report online"

"Or you can call anonymously to CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111. Are you a victim too? Please can you report this on 101, or online"
