TWO lanes of the M3 are closed this morning (Sunday, May 15) at Basingstoke following a 'multi-vehicle crash'.

UPDATE: All lanes have now reopened

Traffic is queuing as emergency services attend the scene on the M3 northbound near Junction 6.

This is having a knock-on effect, meaning traffic is heavy at Black Dam roundabout.

AA Traffic News is reporting that a "multi-vehicle crash" has occured.

Drivers are being urged to approach with caution and avoid the area where possible.

In a Tweet, National Highways South East wrote: "There are two lanes closed on the M3 eastbound between J6 and J5 near Basingstoke due to a multi-vehicle collision. Emergency services are at the location and Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic amnagement. Please allow extra time for your journey."

Hampshire Police, Fire Service and Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
