A MAN in his 50s had to be hospitalised after a group of people got out of a car and attacked him in the street.

The victim was at the junction of Wakefield Road and Witts Hill when a group of three or four people got out of a black vehicle, similar to a Range Rover, and attacked him.

They then followed him and attacked him again at the junction of Vanguard Road and Lytham Road.

The man sustained injuries to his face and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

Police investigating the incident at 8.30pm on Friday have turned to the public for help.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or saw a group of people or a black Range Rover in the area.

“Perhaps you were driving through the area at the time and may have dash cam footage that may assist our investigation?
