FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a property involving an electric hob yesterday.

Crews from Totton Fire Station responded to reports that an electric hob and cooking oil was on fire at Winsor Road in Copythorne.

Fire crews rushed to the scene at around 2am.

However, when they arrived, the blaze was already out.

The crews gave fire safety advice and carried out safe and well checks before leaving the area.

They returned to the fire station by around 3am.

Leaflets were also dropped off at neighbouring properties.
