LIGHTNING illuminated the sky once more as violent thunderstorms struck the country.
Thunderstorms rolled back to Southampton Wednesday evening for the second time in a week.
According to the Met Office, provisionally over 28,000 lightning strikes were recorded across the UK, English Channel and near continent in the “past 24 hours.”
Mother nature’s second show of the week was enjoyed by residents across Hampshire who snapped shots of the spectacular scene.

A yellow weather warning was in place from 7pm on Wednesday, May 18 until 3am Thursday, May 19.
But things have brightened up this week with the sun making a reapparance.
