A VEHICLE which was seized by police last week in the New Forest has been confirmed as stolen.

The silver Ford was located by patrolling officers in Fordingbridge on May 11.

It was thought at the time that it had been used illegally.

But now police have confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from the London area.

An investigation has now been launched to locate those who took the vehicle.

The owners of the car have also been notified ahead of its return.

A police spokesperson said in a post on the Ringwood Police Facebook page: “Without the support and information from local community it would be so much harder to protect communities and target criminals.

“If you have information which could help solve crime call Ringwood team on 101 in confidence or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 so we can make rural towns and villages even safer places for everyone.”
