ROTARIANS heard all about the inner workings of the Hampshire Chronicle at their latest breakfast meeting.

The Winchester Rotary meeting took place at Rick Stein Restaurant in Winchester High Street on Wednesday, May 18 at 7.30am.

The group heard from Newsquest's regional editor Kimberley Barber who looks after the Hampshire Chronicle, as well as the Romsey Advertiser, Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser.

They had a chance to hear about how the newspapers are produced and the future of local news, as well as plans for digital improvements such as a new app and celebrations for the Hampshire Chronicle's 250th anniversary set to place in September.

Other items of discussion included the Rotarians involvement with the recent Big Sleepout at Winchester Cathedral which raise more than £25,000 for charity, and their plans to marshal a Jubilee-themed Park Run at River Park Leisure Centre on June 11.

They also spoke about plans for their annual fireworks event, shoebox collections, support for Ukrainian refugees and a car boot sale in August.

Its next breakfast meeting will take place at Rick Stein Restaurant on Wednesday, June 22.
