A VIOLENT man with a history of domestic abuse punched and ripped hair from his partner's head in a sustained assault.

Lee Vincent Lloyd, 48, carried out a sustained attack on the victim on March 17 this year, a court heard.

The assault involved punching and hair pulling which resulted in hair loss.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he admitted one charge of assault by beating.

Llyod, of Wharncliffe Road, Southampton, was jailed for 24 weeks.

In a previous attack on the same woman, Lloyd hurled a wine glass at her, leaving the victim with a deep cut to her neck that required five stitches.

He pleaded guilty to wounding with intent on the basis he deliberately threw the contents of his wine glass at his victim but did not deliberately let go of the glass.

He was jailed for 27 months in April 2021.
