THREE members of the same Southampton family have been sentenced at the city's court after being convicted of assaulting a man.

Before the court were Abdul Sattar Shere-Mohammod, 52, and his two sons, Abu Bakkar Siddik Shere-Mohammod, 28, and Abu Samson Shere-Mohammod, 23, all of Violet Road.

They were all found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm at the end of a trial that finished on April 12.

Yesterday they appeared before Judge Brian Forster QC and were each handed a 12-month community order, including a requirement to complete 120 hours of unpaid work. They were each told to pay £300 costs and £500 compensation to their victim.

The offence took place at the Acorn Industrial Estate in Southampton on March 26 last year.

The court heard that the victim was kicked and punched in the head as well as suffering a dislocated shoulder in the incident.
