Platinum Jubilee celebrations are underway across Southampton.

The bunting has been put up, cakes have been made and Union Jacks adorn streets as revellers look forward to the long weekend ahead.

Tomorrow, June 3, is the second day of the bank holiday weekend to celebrate the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Have a look at everything going on in Southampton and Eastleigh on Friday – from a hog roast to a ‘Royal Rock-a-bout’.

Street & Garden Parties:

  • Oakmount Avenue, Ruby Road, Pentire Avenue and others will be closed for street parties

  • Monty’s Jubilee Fete – Montague Avenue Green, 12-3pm

Bring your picnic to Monty Community Hub’s free family event

Children can enjoy a tombola, bouncy castles and a special appearance from Trigger the Train

  • Kings Garden Party – Pinkmead Farm, 3pm-10pm

Enjoy a hog roast and live music from The Vintage Sweethearts.

Picnics & BBQs:

  • Jubilee Community Picnic – Freemantle Lake Park, 1-3pm

Join Friends of Freemantle Lake Park for a community celebration.

Look out for the children’s play tent, craft and refreshment stalls.

  • Oaklands Community Pool Picnic – Oaklands Community Pool, 12-3pm

Bring food, games and family along to this Jubilee picnic.

Inflatable sessions will be running in the pool 1-2pm and 2-3pm.

  • Bowls & BBQ – Southampton Old Bowling Green, 12-6pm

Head to Southampton Old Bowling Green for a BBQ in the sun.

Music:

  • Right Royal Rock-a-bout – The Point, Eastleigh, 7-10:30pm

Catch The Black Kat Boppers at The Point for a one-off Jubilee gig.

Free for standing/picnic blanket tickets or £4 to hire a deck chair.

Showcasing the best of the local hip-hop and grime scene for the Jubilee. Free entry.
