A WARM welcome is assured at this delightful city cafe where the staff aim to please and customers feel relaxed.

This delicious French toast topped with an array of fruit including in season strawberries, watermelon, bananas and blueberries is just one of the items from the impressive menu at Banjo's Brunch on Portswood Road.

The venue, which was formerly The Jackpot Café, opened its doors in February, serving breakfast, lunches, sandwiches, cakes, coffee and milkshakes.

Only quality meat from award-winning Solent Butchers is served and the very popular bread and baked products are direct from The Baker's Dozen in West End.

Homemade bubble and squeak, a British classic of fried vegetables pictured here with a rather tasty looking omelette, has proved one of the most popular items on an extensive menu.

Daily Echo:

But a regular flow of customers to the Portswood diner are also treated to all day breakfasts, toasties, baguettes and baps, as well as sweet treats including waffles, brioche and ice cream. Chocolate, strawberry and banana milkshakes are also homemade and there to be enjoyed every day.

Owner Annie Anderson told the Daily Echo: "We call our homemade bubble and squeak bubble bombs and have had customers come to purchase them before we have even cooked them! They all want to take them home for friends and family to try.

"We cater for all and promise to tickle your tastebuds! The quality and the ability to create what you want on the plate makes us stand out from others.

Daily Echo:

"We are friendly and you will always receive a warm welcome. We aim to please and make our customers feel relaxed.

"They say they keep coming back because the food is amazing and we always make them feel welcome."

Banjo's Brunch did a roaring trade of yummy cakes and muffins, decorated in red, white and blue sprinkles, over the long weekend to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Daily Echo:

The café is open six days a week from 8am, now closing on a Sunday and opening every Monday from next week onwards.
