THE peaceful town of Romsey was rocked to its foundations when Slade played support for Status Quo on August 11, 2002

More than 10,000 people traipsed through Broadlands’ muddy fields to hear the 48-hour pop spectacular, the Aero-Pop Proms.

Status Quo were headliners but in the line-up were evergreen rockers Slade, The American Four Tops and Abba tribute band Bjorn Again.

Wet weather failed to put a dampener on people’s spirits as a spectacular air display from parachute team the Red Devils entertained the masses.
