Police have released more details on the person arrested following the discovery of a brothel in Southampton.

Officers raided an address in the city as part of an investigation into a human trafficking gang with links to Romania.

A 26-year-old woman from Southampton was arrested as a result. 

More raids took place at addresses across the country.

Overall, four people were arrested and five victims were rescued. 

Other arrests include a 25-year-old woman from Reading, a 37-year-old man from Reading and a 27-year-old man from Birmingham.

Wiltshire Police which led the operation said all four have now been released under investigation. 

Their paperwork is due to be passed on to police in Romania so they can deal with the suspects. 

Two illegal brothels were found by police, one in Southampton and the other in Reading. 

At least one victim was rescued in Southampton and are now being supported. 

More than £5,000 worth of cash was seized during the operation as well as several mobile phones. 

Forces from Leeds, Birmingham, Reading, Oldham and Southampton took part in the action alongside the National Crime Agency.
