A TASK force are on the hunt for a missing cat lost in Southampton.
Animal Search UK’s Missing Pet Search Team is out around the city today across the Redbridge, Shirley and Freemantle areas in a bid to find missing Nala.
Nala disappeared on Wednesday, June 1, from her owner’s friend's home in Southampton.
Her owner was on holiday when she disappeared and is concerned that she is lost as this is not her usual territory.
She could be trying to make her way home, which is around two miles away.
Nala's owner said: "Nala is part of our family, and the house isn’t the same without her.
"We all miss her so much and it was only weeks ago we celebrated her first birthday - we just want her home.”
Nala is a one-year-old female cat, neutered and microchipped. She is a small blue, grey, brown, and ginger tortoiseshell, with various patches all over.
Alisha Turner from the Media Team and Animal Search Headquarters said: “Nala is not familiar with the area and was seen to be stressed when escaping the house. It is a student-heavy area meaning a lot of vacant buildings.
"Due to the circumstances of her house being close, there is a possibility she is trying to find her way back home. However, there are a lot of obstructions and dangers she would face, showing the urgency of getting her home!”
Anyone who thinks they might have seen Nala or have any information, please call in to the Animal Search UK team on 0800 4 320 340 or visit the website at www.animalsearchuk.co.uk quoting reference number ALP289549.
