THOUSANDS of people turned out this weekend for Isle of Wight Festival 2022.

Taking place between Thursday and Sunday, the event at Seaclose Park, Newport was kicked off with a flyover by the Red Arrows.

Performing on the first day of the festival were Lewis Capaldi, Madness, Nile Rodgers & Chic and Sigrid.

Then on Saturday crowds were treated to shows from Kasabian, Pete Tong, The Proclaimers and Blossoms, to name a few.

The weekend of music came to a close on Sunday with Muse, Rudimental and Tom Grennan, as well as others.

Other performances at the Big top included Southampton-born Craig David, Shaggy and the Kooks.

Around 50,000 reportedly attended this year with a heat wave warning being issued ahead of the festival.

Music fans were advised to take care as temperatures peaked and some shows were even halted due to high winds on Saturday.
