A COUNCIL is set to reclaim unauthorised bins in a bid to improve the efficiency of collection rounds.
Eastleigh Borough Council says it will be writing to households that it believes may have too many black waste bins.
The number of bins allocated to a property is based on how many people live there which the authority says ensures a "fair and proportionate" number.

But now it has said having too many can reduce the efficiency of collections as bin crews must empty additional bins and drive to dispose of the waste more often.
The letters are being sent out to check each properties allocation is correct and it is also hoped this will encourage residents to dispose of their waste sustainably.
