A NEW gym has opened with hopes to improve health and fitness for people in Chandler’s Ford.

Pentalife CrossFit gym has officially opened its doors offering fitness sessions run by co-owners Naomi Snuggs and David Cosens.

The couple, from Bassett, says that feeling healthy helped them both to build their own emotional and mental resilience.

Naomi, 43, said: “We’re loving our new PentaLife home, we’re having a brilliant time getting to know our members and integrating into the small business community.

“Everyone has been really welcoming and we are keen to work with and support as many other small local businesses as we can.”

The couple met eight years ago at a CrossFit gym and have followed the CrossFit lifestyle for their own fitness since then.

They want to 'share their journey' with others by creating PentaLife, now based at Brickfield Trading Estate, Brickfield Lane.

The name comes from ‘Penta’ the Greek for ‘five’ from the gym's five key areas of general well-being.

Nutrition, movement, mindset, connections, and sleep.

Naomi says that fitness helped them to navigate challenging times including her previous marriage ending and David, 36, being diagnosed with autism in 2019.

He said: "It’s been my dream to have my own gym for years, so to be in this position is amazing.

"It’s our mission to not only provide coaching to improve the health and fitness.

"To build a positive community of like-minded people who will help and support each other."

The CrossFit facility is the next step on the couple’s journey and is open to all from 15 years old to 72 years old.

The couple says that their gym is adapted for all ages.

The grand opening was attended by the deputy Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Nick Couldrey.

He said: “I was delighted to be invited to support a new enterprise in the area that promises to make a constructive contribution to our community in terms of employment as well as health and well-being.”
