THE city council's CEO is set to be paid between £160k and £191k a year. 

Southampton City Council has revealed its new head of paid services Mike Harris will be paid between £160,882 and £191,063 a year. 

It comes after the new chief executive was chosen as Sandy Hopkins' successor after she left in February 2022. 

Mr Harris had been acting CEO was last week confirmed in the role.

A council spokesperson said: "Once Mike’s appointment has been confirmed by the Council on July 20, he will be paid in line with the nationally agreed pay-scale for Chief Executives."

The new permanent head of the paid service will lead all of the council's officers to bring any plans, policies, and changes made into fruition.
