A VAN driver has appeared in court charged with being four times the drink-drive limit in a crash with a motorcyclist.

Stpehen Jones, 58, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court over the crash on the A32 near Wickham.

Jones, of Mill Road, Emsworth, is accused of having 120 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was breath tested by police following a crash involving 42-year-old motorcyclist Scott Lemon on April 30.

Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on June 6, he was also charged with dangerous driving.

The case was adjourned to Portsmouth Crown Court on July 8. The bench granted Jones unconditional bail until the next hearing.
