A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after a police chase through Southampton.

On Wednesday night officers tried to stop a stolen BMW 3 Series in the city.

The car was seen on Thomas Lewis Way just before 9.10pm and the vehicle failed to stop.

Officers tracked it, eventually bringing it to a stop in Manor Farm Road.

The road was closed in both directions for around an hour between Diamond Road and Wellington Road.

A 29-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink, and drug-driving.
