THE Echo looks back at when the last weekend of June was dominated by local carnival processions.
The date was June 27, 1992 and not one, but four carnivals delivered thrills and fun in explosions of colour and sound.
Among them was the city of Winchester as well as the villages of West End, Netley Marsh and Botley.
Kids donned fancy dress, officials shook collection tins and spectators looked on in awe as the sun shone on each of the events.
