A Southampton man has been fined £200 for boarding a train without a ticket.

Anthony Thacker, 43, of Shirley Road, got on a train at Havant on November 24.

He was not in a designated compulsory ticket area but boarded the train to travel without a valid ticket.

The case was heard at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on June 23.

He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, compensation of £14.50, a £34 surcharge, and £160 costs.

He must pay the balance of £428.50 by July 21.
