A YELLOW weather warning has been issued near Southampton for thunderstorms. 

The Met Office issued the warning for midday onwards. It is now due to last until 10pm today. 

Romsey and parts of the New Forest are covered by the warning which spreads across the South-West, the West Midlands and Wales. 

Motorists have been warned that driving conditions will be affected by spray and standing water leading to longer journey times. 

Delays are also expected to train services with some short term losses of power also said to be possible. 

Flooding of homes and businesses and some damage as a result of lightning has also been included in the warning.
