POLICE have ramped up patrols in a Southampton neighbourhood following antisocial behaviour and drug activity.

Officers from the Southampton North Neighbourhood Team were in Richmond Gardens in Portswood last night after an increase in reports from residents.

They say that locals have reported a number of incidents of antisocial behaviour and drug activity in the area.

Police say they will continue to show a presence in the area.

On Twitter, a spokesperson from the team said: "Officers from Southampton North Neighbourhood Team have been out in Richmond Gardens this evening due to an increase in reports of anti social behaviour and drug activity at this location.

"We will continue to show a presence in the area."
