A SHOEBOX full of cannabis has been seized after a car was stopped by police on the motorway.

Officers from Hampshire Roads Policing Unit pulled over a white Mercedes yesterday, July 4, on the M3 after the vehicle came back on checks as uninsured.

Police smelt cannabis in the car and a drug wipe was carried out and officers searched the vehicle.

They located a shoe box full of cannabis in the boot of the vehicle and also found that the tyres were illegal with cords exposed.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and suspicion of drug supply offences.

Tickets were issued for no insurance and illegal tyres.
