A WOMAN in her 70s has died in a serious crash on the M3, police have confirmed.
Officers attended a single-vehicle collision just before 7am, with road and lane closures put in place between junctions six (Basingstoke) and five northbound throughout the morning.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a woman in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Enquiries are ongoing into the exact circumstances of the collision.
